Multimedia installation combining interactivity, real time sound production and projection mapping, under the artistic event OMH - Our Media Heads at SILOS.CR

The freedom of body expression takes care of the musical content. The replacement of sound production hardware by multimedia solutions sets the future.

People are tracked by Kinect sensor's connected with Processing, then it sends midi signal for Reason5, allowing controlling synthesizers in real time with body moves.

GePS by Robinson, Frederic, et al.

GePS is a performance system for musical applications. Hard- and software-design is open. The project is about controlling audio with gestures and movement. Containing a few sensors and radio, the glove will transmit the gesture-data to your laptop where the datastream is analyzed and used to create sound and music. The software system uses the full scale of the sensor data, without limiting it to MIDI. The main goal is to transform the complexity of gestures into music without restricting your movement for the sake of simple parameter-mapping.

Hot Hand by Source Audio

Introducing the latest innovation from Source Audio, The Hot Hand USB Wireless MIDI Controller. The Hot Hand USB's motion-sensing accelerometer enables simple control over previously complicated processes and opens up a new frontier of possibilities for audio and light production.

Audiocubes by Percussa

Percussa Audiocubes have an IR sensor (5m range) in each of their four sides, so that they can sense each other. They also have a high intensity RGB LED, so that feedback can be given through colour. Each cube is about 400g. They recharge over USB for 3h battery life. Each USB port you use can detect the location and orientation of up to 16 cubes.

A variety of available software runs on Win/Mac. This includes MIDIBridge, which allows interfacing to third-party software over MIDI. Plus OSCBridge, which does the same using OSC.

Pricing is/was 649 Euro for a set of four.

OWOW micro-controllers

These five tiny MIDI controllers are designed for different gestural expression. Wob is a proximity sensor, Wiggle is a 3D rotation sensor (like a WiiMote), Drum implements velocity-sensitive air-drumming, Pads gives you four micro-pads for sample triggering, and Scan allows you to draw lines and then read them back into MIDI. This last may be the most innovative.

Each comes as either device form (DVC) or bare cards (CRD) at 120 and 55 Euro respectively. In the second case you get the 3D files to print your own casing, if you like.

The Omnipresent World Of Wizkids was founded by Pieter-Jan Pieters after completing his "Sound on Intuition" thesis at Eindhoven Academy, Netherlands. They recently reached their Kickstarter goal. Target delivery date is February 2016.

Thicket is an audiovisual playground for iPad that allows anyone to create beautiful sounds and pictures from simple finger touches. For users of all ages, this generative art and sound app immerses you in song-like audiovisual pieces called modes. When "playing" a mode, you both react to and create the music and graphics that you experience. Each mode is its own art generator, interactive toy, instrument, even performance tool depending on how you use it. And with new modes to be developed and released every few months, Thicket functions an expandable platform in the exciting new genre of handheld interactive art.
