UFO Club light show (1967) by Mark Boyle and Joan Hills

From its roots as an Irish dancehall called the "Blarney Club", the bar at 31 Tottenham Court Road, London was transformed into the UFO Club for a few months, bridging 1966 and 1967. Soft Machine, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Procol Harum, and other great played there.

Mark Boyle and Joan Hills created the visuals for these events, projecting combinations of oils and bodily fluids under hot lights.

The 14 Hour Technicolor Dream was an infamous event at Alexandra Palace, 29 April 1967.

The 14 Hour Technicolor Dream was a seminal psychedelic happening of the Summer of Love. Organised by John 'Hoppy' Hopkins as a fundraiser for counter-culture publication the IT (International Times). The event brought bands, artists, poets and performers, with two stages facing each other across the Great Hall. A helter skelter was installed inside the hall and oil lamp light-show was provided by Mark Boyle who provided lighting for the iconic UFO club. Pink Floyd headlined the event, performing at sunrise.
